Rand Paul, son of Republican congressman Ron Paul, has announced his campaign to run for Senate in Kentucky for 2010. In an effort to raise funds, today commenced the first “money bomb,” a day dedicated towards donations.
Rand Paul’s campaign is reminiscent of his father’s 2008 presidential campaign, with 100% of contributions coming from that of individual supporters. The campaign holds an all-time record for political one-day fund-raising, all in all raising about 30 million dollars.
Rand Paul has ran his own business as an eye surgeon for 18 years, but now is entering politics in a “desire to diagnose problems, and provide practical solutions.”
