I am going insane. I have been writing for three days and all that I want to do is delete all that I wrote, make the font size 72, and type, “I’m sorry, Communism just does not work.” A+ paper.
And if you, for any reason, think that communism works in practice, please let me know who you are, so I can send you my 14+ page paper on the five communist leaders Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, and Gorbachev — and the magnificent job that they did supporting their country, their citizens, and their foreign affairs.
Communists . . . they’ve got a “trendy symbol,” the hammer and sickle — kids think it’s cool. Also, people seem to think Che Guevara symbolizes peace — or else the hippie children wouldn’t be wearing t-shirts with his face plastered all over them. Then again, the tough kids wear those shirts, too. Maybe the little tyrants get it. I guess we’re far from the Red Scare in this country, which used to be such a big deal/worry. Now, we’re embracing this kind of thought!
I feel as if many feel like Socialism/Communism is the only answer. The only solution to poverty and equality. The only equality that comes from these systems is that everyone will be extremely unhappy! You give people a reason to work, to make a living on their own and not cradle through government aid, they will start doing things.
From the Glenn Beck show, Craig T. Nelson made a fool out of himself, for some reason thinking that welfare and food stamps are not government funded:
BECK: Are you are saying you personally won’t pay income tax anymore?
NELSON: I’m really thinking about it, Glenn, because as a fiscally responsible grandfather, there are programs that they’re asking me to fund that I refuse to fund.
BECK: I have to tell you —
NELSON: The veterans coming back are not getting what they deserve. Those people that have served, that put themselves in harm’s way.
If my children, my grandchildren, and my great grandchildren is about to be here, is not going to be educated properly, then I’m through with it. I’m not going to spend money on these things that you’re asking me to.
They should be allowed to go bankrupt! What happened — we are a capitalistic society. OK, I go into business, I don’t make it, I go bankrupt. They’re not going to bail me out.
I’ve been on food stamps and welfare. Anybody help me out? No. No. They gave me hope, and they gave me encouragement, and they gave me a vision. That came from my education.
This is the problem. People do not even know how their country works. Then how are they supposed to understand, all in all, what the founding fathers wanted this country to be . . . and more importantly that socialism/communism is not the answer — and freedom would feel so much better then the current method of stealing and distributing wealth. And don’t tell me that it’s not stealing — you don’t pay, force is used against you, and you’re put in jail.
I believe that America is ready to WAKE UP. To tell the government that we don’t want to end up like the Soviet Union — since we’re heading in that direction in rapid speed. We need to tell the government that we can take care of our selves, privately, and we don’t need them to spend like a gold digger using her 95 year old husband’s credit card! That’s not me! I refuse to be in debt, myself, always sure that I have the money to spend — and I do so wisely. If I am represented by a government that is nothing like me, why shouldn’t I rebel?
I’m waiting for the Revolution.
