Thinking optimistically for once on the subject (in contrast to “DEATH TO REPUBLICANS, THEIR PARTY IS HORRIBLE”), I can see this switcheroo being a “good thing” for one particular reason.
The irrelevance of political parties!
At Drexel University, we have had a couple of meetings of “Common Grounds,” which is a group that discusses politics — and we have all, no matter what our political affiliation, come to the simple conclusion that one political party cannot satisfy the needs of every individual human being.
So, with that said, I hope that his switch proves that it’s very hard to keep your views true to just one party — especially after corruption — and perhaps it would be better to find a way to meet the needs of the individual!
