Beck and Limbaugh — the Good, Bad and Ugly.

Good: Getting the word out about our liberties, rights . . . they get attention from major news broadcast programs.  If these ideas could stick with the American people, we’d be getting somewhere . . .

Bad: Limbaugh often never mentions social liberties (being Republican).  Beck often acts like he has no clue what he’s talking about and he’s “learning,” rather than being firm with his beliefs.

Ugly: Liberal news programs that slander their already negative images, making their ideas (often very Libertarian) seem “bad” or “crazy.”

And this:

Becks Magazine, April Edition. Obama is Hitler.

Beck's Magazine, April Edition. Obama is a Nazi.

I feel like every time that I watch these two, I agree with 90% of what they say and they definitely seem to be “for the people” and for liberty/freedom/the whole nine yards. The only problem is that sometimes they can be a little outrageous and they forget to remind their viewers where they are getting these ideas from! Oh yes, from the founding fathers that we all have learned to love. Maybe they need to take a step back and start at the basics. Or maybe blatantly declare themselves Libertarian (Rush won’t do this, but Beck . . . ). It’s time to push the real issues and not just play around with the media spotlight. Yes, this is serious business.

At least I think it should be serious.

  1. Good points. I’m becoming more and more an admirer of Bernie Goldberg. He’s an interesting character.

I get frustrated with folks who tell me that government should be small in my life – of which I wholeheartedly agree – but the notion of a God should be all-encompassing.

    It’s about personal responsibility.
